Fareast Service Company (FESCO) Internship and Summer Hire Program
Fareast Service Company in collaboration with two vocational schools, International Resort College (IRC) and Sci. Tec. College, sponsors two week and four week internship programs to provide students with "real world" experience in the areas of marketing, training, and computer information systems. Through this community support program, the students, vocational schools, and FESCO benefit together in an interactive business learning environment. The students work in the following FESCO divisions: Food Products, Import and Export Logistics, WD-40, Environmental, Real Estate-Warehouse Leasing and Internet Sales.
The International Resort College provides specialized certification in professions as an airline and hotel reservation clerk, ground hostess, flight attendant, and airline / hotel customer service attendant. Also, the school teaches foreign language courses, such as English and Chinese, as a second language. The degree from this school is a certification in a specialized subject. As a two year program, International Resort College courses are transferrable to other Japanese colleges. Also, IRC has a "home stay" program with two options: 3 months or 10 months. In this program, the student can experience another country's culture while he or she is attending college and staying in a sponsor's home. The Sci. Tec. College offers vocational training in these professions: IT engineering, Eco-system environmental engineering, Biotechnology engineering, Nutrition medical business, Eco-architectural engineering, and Eco-civil engineering. Also, the students can take the preparatory courses in these fields to obtain University admission. In collaboration with Sci. Tec. College, Fareast Service Company will offer the four week internship program starting in February 2008. This internship program is sponsored through the Ministry of Education. In FESCO's summer hire program, we provide high school students with on the job training in marketing, asbestos and lead based paint courses preparation, computer information systems, and detailing vehicles in the PITSTOP division. This program lasts for approximately two months. The student is able to obtain work experience to decide if he or she wants to go into the work force after high school or go to college to major in a particular subject. With the experience from the summer hire program at FESCO, the student is able to make an informed decision about his or her career.
